Reheat Quiche
Growing up my aunt made the best ever quiche that I have ever tried. In fact, it was from learning from her that I created my own air fryer quiche.
It was always a cheese quiche that was loaded with lots of cheese and then topped with sliced tomatoes.
Whenever she and my uncle hosted a barbecue in the summer, you can guarantee that everyone would be heading to the buffet food for a slice of her cheese quiche.
But what I loved most about quiche was the leftovers.
That you could load a slice of leftover quiche into the microwave, and it would reheat perfectly.
There was just one thing wrong with it and that was that the shortcrust pastry always went soggy. Though, the warm melted cheese always made up for that.
Today I wanted to show you how to reheat quiche using the air fryer. Both mini quiche and full slices.
Can I Reheat Quiche?
You are probably wondering if it is ok to reheat quiche? Or if reheating quiche the next day is ok?
Well, the answer is a big fat YES.
Reheated Quiche the next day is AMAZING.
In fact, I prefer my quiche reheated the next day, then when it is just cooked.
You can use the air fryer to do this and can even add extra toppings if you want to, just to make your reheated quiche even better.
Can Quiche Be Made Ahead Of Time & Reheated?
Yes, it can! BUT its not worth the time it takes to reheat a full quiche compared to doing it the day before.
What I recommend instead is that you make ahead your quiche but don’t cook it. Then place it in your fridge instead of into the oven.
Then the next day, you cook your quiche and then just reheat what hasn’t been eaten.
Can Quiche Be Frozen And Reheated?
Yes, it can! Though, if you are doing what I recommend is each piece of spare quiche goes into a freezer bag
Then when you go to reheat your quiche from frozen, start with 4 minutes at 120c/250f before following the rest of the quiche cooking instructions.
Best Way To Reheat Quiche?
I prefer to go small with my quiche slices as they are quicker to reheat. I.e. chopping your quiche into tapas portions for your reheat rather than traditional quiche slices.
Then for my biggest tip, reheat your quiche in the air fryer over aluminium foil like this:
Then it will stop your air fryer getting dirty and you are not losing the delicious cheese and you can even eat your quiche from the foil. Just think of the washing up you are saving yourself.
You can also do the same with larger slices of quiche like we have done here:
And as long as the quiche isn’t on top of each other you can do multiple slices at once.
How To Reheat Quiche?
If you want to reheat quiche in the air fryer then this is how it’s done:
- Load leftover quiche slices into the air fryer basket over foil.
- Cook on a medium heat in the air fryer.
- Serve.
This is the simple air fryer version of quiche reheating instructions that can work for any flavour of quiche. Whilst our quiche is a cheese and tomato you can use the same method with a quiche lorraine for example.
How Long Do You Reheat Quiche?
The best thing about reheating quiche in the air fryer, is that it is FAST. In fact, it takes JUST 8 minutes for a large slice of quiche. Just think for a moment about how long it would take to reheat quiche in the oven.
Also, I mentioned above going smaller with your quiche slices and reheating mini quiches. Well, if you go small you can reduce the reheat time down to JUST 5 minutes.
