DescriptionWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Recruiting and Training Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires from job posting to their first day of work.
General SummaryThe Recruiting and Training Specialist is responsible for attracting and onboarding new talent, designing and delivering effective training programs, and fostering employee development. This role involves managing the recruitment process, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience, and assessing and addressing training needs. As a leader in the HR team, the Specialist is expected to exemplify and promote Kessler's Core Values, contributing to a positive and values-driven workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruiting
- Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates.
- Post job openings on various job boards, social media platforms, and other relevant channels.
- Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and assess candidates' qualifications and fit for the organization.
- Coordinate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job specifications.
- Manage the candidate’s experience throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
- Maintain a database of potential candidates for future openings.
- Onboarding:
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation, paperwork, and introductions to key personnel.
- Ensure new employees have the necessary tools, resources, and knowledge to succeed in their roles.
- Develop and deliver onboarding training sessions to help new hires understand company policies, procedures, and culture.
- Employee Relations:
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Address employee concerns and provide guidance on HR-related issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives.
- Training and Development:
- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultation with managers.
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs, workshops, and seminars to address identified training needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in training and development.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all recruiting and training activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to recruitment, training, and employee performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in recruiting and training, preferably in a retail setting.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and training methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software (e.g., Applicant Tracking Systems, Learning Management Systems).
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Working Conditions
- This position typically operates in an office environment, with occasional travel to job fairs, training events, and other recruitment-related activities.
- Schedule is 8am to 5pm, with some evening and weekend hours.
