I am so happy with 's first Diversity and Inclusion Awareness Month in June. We had an action packed four weeks which focused on four different themes in the D&I space. Week one was an introduction to the topic of D&I where we held lunch and learn sessions on unconscious bias. The focus on week two was on visible disabilities. We had a fantastic talk from Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind where Léan and Peter thought us about that it was like to live and work with different levels of visual impairment. Week three focused on neurodiversity and the special skills that people living with neurodiversity can bring to the workplace. In week four we had a focus on invisible disabilities and issues affecting people at work. To highlight this I held a panel discussion where myself and two other employees shared our stories with our own invisible disabilities. The three topics for the discussion were Mental Health, Autism and Endometriosis. We finished the week out with a talk from a very special guest speaker, Dónal Óg Cusack. He spoke about his experience of coming out as a gay man while still an integral part of the senior Cork Hurling Team and answered some employee questions afterwards. I am delighted to be part of a company that values D&I and puts so much effort into making sure all employees feel happy and safe at work. Our CEO says it all the time that it's so important to bring your whole self to work. It's so refreshing to be part of a company that really lives by its values :)#diversity #inclusion #CelebrateDiversity #DiversityMonth #EqualityForAll #InclusionMatters

It's been a busy summer at Eye Level Communications, LLC. From our webinar collaboration with ReadySet, publishing my third article in Hearing Health Foundation Magazine, and completing my Step into Your Moxie Certification Training, to being a guest on the DEI Pro Finder podcast, being accepted into the 2024 Lights! Camera! Access! cohort and attending the 2024 Disability:IN Conference, it's been an incredible whirlwind of immersion and activation!🔑 My key takeaway? To create sustainable change, we must dismantle the barriers to participation that people with disabilities face in their personal and professional lives, including attitudinal, communication, physical, policy, programmatic, social, and transportation barriers. Understanding and removing these barriers will "...create a future where inclusion and opportunity are the norms, not the exceptions," as my dear friend and colleague Jason Carr stated. 💫If you'd like to learn more, check out Eye Level's training course, "Identify and Remove Barriers to Increase Participation of People with Disabilities." https://lnkd.in/gNBspipKSummary: Did you know that people with disabilities often encounter seven common barriers in their lives, work, and society? This training will guide participants in understanding and recognizing these barriers in personal and professional settings. Additionally, they'll learn to create and apply creative solutions to effectively eliminate these obstacles, promoting fair access for everyone.#DisabilityInclusion #RepresentationMatters #EyeLevel #EyeLevelWorks #IncluseThis #Accessibility #DisabilityPride Juan Taveras, MBA, SPHR, Kathleen West-Evans, Yishane Lee 📸 Image Description: Top Row (L to R) - 1. April is Autism Awareness month, and it's a great time to reflect on our workplace practices. As a community, we need to consider how our practices inadvertently create barriers to inclusion. Neurodivergence is just one factor that affects the employee experience, and we know that neurodivergent inclusion initiatives are still in early stages. But before we can implement these initiatives, we need to ensure that we are engaging with the huge talent pool of candidates that offer different problem-solving perspectives. From recruiting to onboarding to required ice breakers in meetings, it's important to ask ourselves: where are we doing more harm than good? A great conversation starter with your leadership is: in what ways does our organizational culture and practices support neurodiversity? And where could we be doing better now? Let's work together to create a more inclusive and supportive workplace for everyone. https://bit.ly/3xvc0mq#AutismAwarenessMonth #Neurodiversity #Inclusion #WorkplaceCulture

In my first week at Autism Speaks, I have met wonderful teammates and already learned so much. I recently read a Wall Street Journal article that reinforces the critical need and impact of Autism Speaks' commitment to creating a world where all people with #Autism can reach their full potential. Research indicates that about 50% of autistic adults in the U.S. were unemployed even before the pandemic. This highlights the importance of organizations like Autism Speaks and programs like Workplace Inclusion NowTM (WIN) in fostering inclusivity and supporting neurodivergent individuals in the workforce. Learn more about the Workplace Inclusion NowTM (WIN) program, a workforce development initiative with high impact that aims to create a more inclusive workplace environment for all individuals. It is a solution for doing right by all and doing well. #WorkplaceInclusionCheck out the full article on The Wall Street Journal: https://lnkd.in/gbisQ_2QDiscover more about Workplace Inclusion NowTM (WIN) here: https://lnkd.in/grdnTVCb Nichole Brownlee Christen Gelfand Bryan Klopack Arianna E.

Title: Empowering Perspectives: Overcoming Challenges as a Handicapped Individual👉🌈Navigating life as a handicapped individual presents unique challenges, but it also offers opportunities for growth, resilience, and empowerment. Despite facing physical or cognitive limitations, many individuals with disabilities exhibit remarkable strength and determination in overcoming obstacles and achieving their goals.👉🌈One empowering perspective is the recognition of abilities over disabilities. Instead of focusing solely on what may seem impossible, individuals embrace their strengths, talents, and passions. Through adaptive strategies and assistive technologies, they find innovative ways to pursue their aspirations and contribute to society.👉🌈Moreover, overcoming challenges as a handicapped individual often involves advocating for accessibility and inclusion. By raising awareness and promoting systemic changes, individuals strive to create environments that accommodate diverse needs and foster equal opportunities for all.👉🌈Additionally, fostering a supportive community is crucial for empowerment. By connecting with peers, mentors, and allies, individuals with disabilities find encouragement, solidarity, and shared experiences that validate their journey and inspire collective progress.👉🌈Ultimately, overcoming challenges as a handicapped individual is not just about surmounting physical or cognitive barriers; it's about cultivating a mindset of resilience, empowerment, and possibility. It's about recognizing one's inherent worth, embracing diversity, and advocating for a world where everyone can thrive, regardless of ability.✅👉Follow me Muhammad Danish ✅👉Connect 🤝 Muhammad Danish ✅👉Notification Press 🔔 Icon #Empowerment #DisabilityAwareness #Inclusion #Accessibility #Resilience #Strength #Advocacy #CommunitySupport #Equality #Diversity #AdaptiveStrategies #OvercomingObstacles #InnovativeApproaches #SelfEmpowerment #Inspiration #Possibility #PersonalGrowth #InclusiveSociety #SupportNetworks
